To effectively control all Rebate clearances imports into and exports out of the bonded store as well as clearance of duty paid cargo for local market or exports
Assist with documented operational and administrative procedures.
CRITERIA:
Grade 12
3 years Import and Export experience in clearing and forwarding
Customs related course by accredited training facility min NQF level 3
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent command of English and Afrikaans
Accuracy and attention to detail are imperative
Customs Clearing Course
Freight Forwarding Course (would be of an assistance)
Accuracy and attention to detail are imperative
COMPETENCIES:
Customs and Excise Act, Rules, Scheduled and Guidelines
INCO terms
Relevant Sections of the Income Tax Act
Import and Export Control Act
Prohibited and restricted goods Index
Requirements of Port Health /NRCS/ DAFF and any other Departments
Tariff calculation concepts.
Will be based on site at the Customer’s premises to assist Controller with Customs procedures
Receive, check and verify all documentation required for customs submission to ensure effective clearance.
Use electronic aids, indexes and dictionaries in support of classification and communicate with Controller and Customer to confirm specifications where required
Identify goods subject to Import / Export control, prohibition or restriction, and the necessary action to be taken to obtain any permit that is required prior to the import/export of the commodity.
Handle tariff queries and collate documents in required order for checking
Resolve inquiries and queries from Customs officials regarding bills of entry in a manner that minimize importers / exporters exposure to penal provisions and statutory charges
Ensure that the correct control of records & documents is kept according per SARS requirements
Ensure the stock arrival - balances with import documents - any difference must be recorded and correct measures to be taken in this regard
Maintain a product master file on the data processing system by listing the relevant product codes and part of customs requirements and product actual description per product;
Keep abreast with SARS, NPA, Shipping Line, Airline and other statutory bodies processes and procedures in relation to the Freight Fraternity
Assist Customer with permit application, registration and licensing, where possible.
Adhere to Company policies and procedures.
