Improve Bus revenue from each allocated bus through Improvement of customer complaints, enhancement of visibility of supervision staff on the ground and optimization of the utilization of allocated buss (es). Bus dispatching ability. Knowledge of wayfarer machines. Supervision of employees in a unionized environment Skilled in driving a bus; Skilled in conflict resolution; Knowledge and ability to conduct accident investigation/analysis Data entry capabilities. Ability to assess and resolve complaints in a satisfactory manner Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships 1. IMPROVE CUSTOMER SERVICE (DAILY). Improve communication between company and commuters. Take note of and address customer complaints as far as possible and escalate where necessary. Depot Manager Operations Supervisor (Superintendent ) Operations Supervisor (Superintendent ) Bus Supervisor Operations Supervisor (Superintendent ) Monitor and report driver driving behaviour on the road (over speeding, not following traffic rules, etc.). Check and make sure that the Bus Operator is on time for his/her Shift. Attend to customer complaints on board. Check and make sure that the Bus is clean and in good working order. Monitor overloading of buses and provide solutions. Check and make certain that Bus operators are in uniform and are in a presentable manner. 2. ENHANCE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN DRIVERS AND DISPATCHERS. Monitor, evaluate and revise allocated shifts and the dispatching of buses. Communicate with Dispatchers on a daily basis and address their concerns including making sure that Bus Operators are aware of the issues raised by Dispatchers and that such issues are attended to. 3. OPTIMISE UTILISATION OF BUSES AND REDUCE OPERATING COSTS ON THE ALLOCATED BUS. Identify opportunities for Metrobus to extend its services. Improve collection of reliable data pertaining to passenger numbers and revenue on a daily basis for improved Enterprise resource planning and management purposes. Check and make sure that the wayfarer machine is in good working order and that it is properly utilised at all times. Identifying machine and module problems and get them repaired. Identify opportunities for reduction of diesel consumption Identify opportunities for improvement of revenue collection for each route undertaken by the allocated to Each Bus Operator under him/her, identify and report on risks in this regard. Reduce bus idling and dead mileage on allocated buses. Compile a comprehensive daily report regarding the day’s business operation including all of the above and hand it over to the operations Superintendent. 4. RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLETION OF THE DRIVER PERFORMANCE AND COMPLIANCE CHECKLIST FOCUSING ON BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING (DAILY) Develop reports on the data collated and provide to the Depot Manager daily. Supervises bus operators, monitor adherence to routes and schedules of Metrobus. Monitors radio transmissions with bus operators to ensure system is operating efficiently. Reports breakdowns, or when routes are impassable. Completes daily logs of activities to provide accurate, up-to-date information on bus schedules and passenger numbers. Collate data on incidents on board buses, comments and complaints logged and report on them to the Depot Managers. Relieve bus operators in emergencies and completes schedule if necessary. Performs such other related tasks as may be assigned by the Depot Manager 5. CARRY OUT GENERAL SUPERVISION, ADMINISTRATIVE AND OTHER OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT RELATED DUTIES AS ASSIGNED (DAILY)

(QUALIFICATIONS): NATIONAL DIPLOMA: TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT (3 YEARS), Must possess and maintain a Professional Driver’s License. 2-3 YEARS EXPERIENCE AS A BUS OPERATOR WITH A GOOD SAFETY RECORD Computer Literacy
