Job Purpose -Company Warehousing Division seeks an experienced Operations Superintendent to:
Assist management to achieve the strategic objectives of the facility,
Actively assist management with the company Excellence Charter requirements.
Ensure compliance to lawful and reasonable superior instructions,
Ensure compliance to all Quality Work Instructions,
Ensure compliance to company Policies and Procedures,
Ensure compliance to client requirements in relevance to position being held
Ensure that WMS is utilized to its full available extend, within the facility,
Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 Certificate, or relevant equivalent tertiary qualification,
Minimum two years industry related experience,
Warehouse and or Supply Chain Management Diploma
High levels of proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook,
Key Responsibilities PEOPLE
Effectively plan casual labour requirements, in line with operational requirements within the facility,
Maintain high levels of productivity within the facility, and compile and manage illustrative graphs
and records thereof,
Approval/Decline of Staff Leave Requests on WSS,
Compile Annual Leave Plan, in line with Operational Requirements, and sign off with superior, ensuring
that each employee is send on leave for 10 consecutive annual leave days/annual leave cycle,
Inform superior of all staff planned and unplanned absenteeism in the workplace,
Apply Disciplinary Action if and when required in consultation with HR/Superior,
Manage compliance to Daily Blue Area Talk Discussions and ensure accurate records thereof is
maintained at all times,
Conduct bi-annual performance appraisals, and identify staff training requirements, for submission to superior,
Compile Annual Job Observation plan, and conduct job observations in line with plan,
Provide on-the-job training to subordinates, if and when required,
EQUIPMENT:
Ensure that accurate records of all checklists are retained,
Ensure that maintenance plan for equipment is compiled, and that all maintenance is complied with in
line with the plan, and that accurate maintenance records are retained,
Ensure that equipment is handled in a safe and secure manner at all times, and are maintained to high
standards of cleanliness.
GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING:
Manage Housekeeping throughout the warehouse and yard area, as well as office areas to the
highest standard of cleanliness at all times.
Staff to be tasked to take care of housekeeping during dormant times in the day.
OPERATIONAL PROCESSES:
Manage conformance to Operational Processes in line with Quality Work Instructions,
Apply corrective action where non conformance to operational processes are not evident,
Review and update Quality Work Instructions in line with changes to business circumstances,
Ensure that all staff are trained on Quality Work Instructions,
Review Operational Processes for areas of improvement,
FLEET MANAGEMENT:
Ensure that accurate maintenance records are retained at all times for Fleet Vehicles,
Ensure that Vehicle Inspections are done daily by Operations Controllers, and hat records are
accurately signed off and maintained at all times,
Ensure that cleanliness on vehicle is maintained at all times,
Ensure that annual license renewals are completed for fleet vehicles,
Compile and monitor consumption reports related to vehicle efficiencies,
Monitor vehicle tracking for misappropriation of vehicles,
CLIENT INTERACTION
Ensure that high levels of professionalism is maintained at all time, in dealings with clients
Ensure that all client requirements are adhered to at all times
FINANCIAL:
Operate within Budgeted Parameters of the operation,
Maintain certain client accounts, in terms of revenue generation,
GENERAL:

Assist in completion of relevant inspections and completion of relevant checklists as may be instructed
by management,
Execute SHERQ responsibilities in line with relevant letter of appointment to SHERQ position appointed
to within operation
Ensure compliance to all COMPANY SHERQ related processes and procedures,
Promote and monitor safety in the workplace, with specific reference to immediate working
environment, and report all non conformances to good housekeeping standards and or safety
Report any and all safety incidents and or near misses to management,
Assist in completion of relevant inspections and completion of relevant checklists as may be instructed
by management,
Execute SHERQ responsibilities in line with relevant letter of appointment to SHERQ position appointed
to within operation
Promote and monitor safety in the workplace, with specific reference to immediate working
environment, and report all non conformance's to good housekeeping standards and or safety
