Job Purpose
To be part of the Supply Chain Solutions team that will develop integrated supply chain solutions to all products and within all industry verticals. To provide specialist warehouse/transport support, e.g. facility optimization / design, resource calculation, and distribution network modelling. To assist the Business Development team in responsing to RFI's and RFQ's, tenders and proposals. To assist business in optimising internal processes and imlementing best practice in executing supply chain solutions. Collaborate with the Company Supply Chain development teams in developing integrated supply chain solutions to global clients.
Qualifications
Matric (Grade 12)
Industrial Engineering Degree, preferably at Honours or Masters level
CSCP certification an advantage
Experience
At least 3 - 5 years experience in supply chain solutions development in the Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics and Transport
Logistics field"
Demonstrable ability in design and implementation of integrated supply chain solutions
"Strong supply chain solutions development ability, and ideally has worked in a supply chain solutions development and
implementation team"
Facility design experience for logistics service provider or warehouse equipment provider.

Main activities of this role
Develop analytics, systems and data management capabilities, including metrics and reports
Ensure that bids/tenders/RFQ's/RFE's/RFP's are conducted, completed, submitted, reported and captured into CRM
Ensure that post bid/tender/RFQ/RFE/RFP's are conducted, reported and captured into CRM in collaboration with the sales and commercial teams
Conduct feasibility studies to determine the financial and operational viability of logistics projects
Collaborate with the various product management, senior management and decision makers to share information, problem solve and clarify management objectives
Warehouse optimization and design support for the warehousing division - internal & external
Ensure close evaluation of all competitors, and keep abreast of new business practices
Lead the analysis of the prospective client's needs and the proposal of appropriate supply chain solutions
Participate in the development of supply chain solutions for the company
Monitor and analyse current trends in the market place and share information with the business development team as well as product managers where applicable.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of complete line of products/services and client business issues and needs
Monitor and analyse trends in regulations, governance and other statutory requirements that may impact client and global supply chains.
Participate in marketing events, trade shows, exhibitions and company events
Communicate product and service opportunities, information or feedback gathered through client activity to appropriate internal resources, including relevant business issues and industry information for utilization in development of market specific action plans and sales strategy
Support the Company global account and industry vertical strategy
Contribute to the performance standards of the supply chain solutions team to meet the dynamic needs of our clients
Improve the measurement of the sales force outputs to increase visibility of immediate improvement opportunities
Assist the business development team to ensure the achievement of agreed revenue, target profit and implementation of sales strategies.
Lead the hand over of the client onto the Servicing and Ops departments

Business case and ROI development for internal and external projects and capital expenditure
