The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner, assumes responsibility for the co-ordination, provision and establishment of quality, efficient care to client employees that leads to the promotion, protection and restoration of the employee’s health within a safe working environment, under administrative direction of the Operations Manager and the Occupational Health Medical Practitioner. Job Requirements:  Contain costs without compromising quality  Keep up-to-date with client contractual agreement and manage compliance  Adhere to all standard operating procedures. To achieve efficiency, quality output and uniformity of performance, while reducing miscommunication and failure to comply  Ensure that quality standards are met by systematic monitoring and evaluation as per the Quality Management System  Ensure compliance to the OSH Act No: 85 of 1993, MHS Act No: 1996, Nursing Act 33: 2005, Medicines Related Substances Act 101:1965 and the related regulations, and company Standard operation policies and procedures  Develop and maintain accurate up to date medical records, to track employee health/illness and provide the company with data  Organise the clinic functions so as to ensure that the relationship between people, work and resources are maximised to achieve set, agreed objectives  Prevent loss of stock and equipment by proper control, inventory keeping and execution of a maintenance plan  Meet customer needs effectively and build productive customer relationships by taking responsibility for customer satisfaction  Inform operations manager promptly of any administrative and client related problems. And compile a corrective action plan, implement and track outcomes  Ensure effective case management to ensure optimum value and desirable outcomes for all identified cases  Ensure tidiness and cleanliness of work spaces to safeguard employee safety and prevent workplace injuries as per core standard checklist  Effectively manage the medical surveillance programme according to client SLA  Implementation of emergency management plan  Implementation and management of health and safety standards as per health safety file  Systematically research trends and facts, by collating and analysing data in order to reach new conclusions and develop interventions  Effective management of staff leave and absenteeism  Prevent medical errors and continuously improve healthcare quality  Provide patient care that is respectful of, and responsive to, individual patient preferences, needs and values  Identify chronic disease cases and refer and monitor appropriately  Ensure confidentiality of data at all times  Ensure calibration of equipment is in accordance with standards and protocols  Perform prompt and effective medical assistance to employees in acute and chronic situations  Dispense medication in accordance with dispensing license if a requirement of the SLA  Ensure on-site IOD management if a requirement of the SLA  Provide health education through one-on-one talks and group talks  Initiate regular meetings with client management to identify and resolve health related problems  Maintain good relationship with business client and service providers  Ensure a sustainable Occupational health programme  Actively participate as a member of a team to achieve goals  Ensure good communication and team work with the Occupational Health multidisciplinary team  Active involvement in own professional development to maintain a satisfactory level of skill and knowledge  Keep up to date with evolving policies and procedures;  Stay abreast of latest developments and statutory requirements that may change  Work effectively and co-operatively with others to establish and maintain good working relationships that are mutually beneficial  Create and maintain a positive environment where the differences of others are recognized, understood, and valued, so that all can reach their full potential and maximize their contributions.  Develop collaborative relationships to help accomplish work goal  Prepare, train and inspire employees to meet today`s challenges
