The key function of the Marketing Manager is to partner with business units and other stakeholders to develop and implement integrated and strategically aligned marketing and communications solutions. Responsibilities: ? To take ownership of a set portfolio of products / business units within the company from a marketing perspective and provide marketing leadership. ? To develop integrated market strategies for the product / business units assigned to the portfolio. ? To be the interface between the assigned business unit and marketing. ? To initiate and drive strategic marketing plans to ensure business unit customer growth. ? To develop marketing and media strategies for product / business units. Strategy Development ? To understand the business unit target market intrinsically. ? To measure track and report on competitor activity on an ongoing basis. ? To know the companies product proposition in detail. ? To define a marketing strategy based on the above, considering all channels to market. ? To evaluate and define media positioning strategies linked to the product or business unit objectives Marketing Integration: o To be the key liaison person between marketing and the business unit. o To understand business unit requirements and translate into actions for marketing. o To document and brief marketing on requirements o To manage deliverables on behalf of marketing to the business units. o To facilitate ongoing conversations and dialogue between marketing and the business units. o To manage business unit expectations from a marketing team perspective. Sponsorship Strategy: o Formulate an overall sponsorships policy and strategy on behalf of the company and Group Marketing. o Define the sub sponsorship categories and territories for the various business units within the Group o Analyse markets and audiences at which new products are aimed and make recommendations regarding marketing strategies to penetrate such markets. Sponsorship Initiation: o Evaluate and critically assess new sponsorship opportunities to support marketing and overall business goals. o Present recommendations to Group Marketing and Executives o Lead the business negotiations for new sponsorship opportunities. o Negotiate sponsorship renewals o Lead the contracting process in conjunction with Group Legal on new sponsorship opportunities. Sponsorship management o Take full ownership of sponsorship relationships o Manage the activities defined within the sponsorship agreement o Execute and manage activities defined in the sponsorship agreement o Continuously evaluate impact and sponsorship performance o Work in close collaboration with the events manager and events team to ensure successful execution. Performance Measurement o To track and report on marketing performance in business unit management committees o To suggest ongoing improvements on marketing performance, both media and creative. Innovation o To on an ongoing basis seek product innovation opportunities for business units. o To seek and explore alternative go-to-market channels like events and activations o To explore sponsorship opportunities and partnership from which the business units can leverage from. o To seek innovative and alternative media strategies for the product / business unit. Management and Leadership o To take up the role of a manager within the marketing function and together with other marketing leadership govern and direct the Group Marketing function. o To manage marketing / sponsorship partnership contracts on behalf of business units and marketing.
