JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (SUMMARY): Monitor financial details to ensure that legal requirements are met. Prepare financial statements, business activity reports and forecast’s Supervise employees who do financial reporting and budgeting Review company financial reports and seek ways to reduce costs Help management to make financial decisions Direct and prepare the financial reports that summarize and forecast the organization’s financial position, such as income statements, balance sheets and analyse the future earnings or expenses Preparing special reports required to be presented to the agencies that regulate the distribution field Oversee the accounting, audit, and budget departments The company investment fund must also be viewed and directed on a regular basis Carry out strategies to raise capital to support the company’s expansion Develop financial plans and acquisitions Monitor and control the flow of cash that comes in and goes out of the company to meet the company’s business and investment needs Review customer and supplier agreements to mitigate risk and maximise cash flow Create awareness of relevant financial legislative and policy changes to assist management with the implementation of financial policies and procedures, legislation, accounting framework and audit requirements SARS Tax Return Reporting Costing Analysis Assistance (Standard and Actual) Payroll Management MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12 Honours degree or equivalent, such as a CIMA qualification Chartered Accountant (SA) qualification would be an advantage EXPERIENCE: 5-6 year management experience Microsoft Excel Advanced experience Experience in analysing & interpreting financial data Sound knowledge of special tax laws and regulations that will affect the Distribution Industry ERP finance system application experience SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to think both analytically and strategically – to go beyond the numbers and to think logically about underlying business issues Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads. Exceptional communication and presentation skills working with multiple peer groups and levels of management.
