Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in either/ or both the Scrap Metal or Waste Management Industry.
- Grade 12/ Matric Qualification
- Excellent English Speaking and Writing Skills.
- Computer Literate
- People & Communication Skills
- Networking Skills
- Excellent Negotiation Skills and Closing of Sales turnover.
- Can work under pressure – alone and as part of a team.

General Functions (Where applicable on Company):
- Prospect for potential Customers (scrap metal and/or waste)/ aka Clients to increase business.
- Create and Maintain own Leads
- Cold call as appropriate, and increase potential clients by growing, leveraging and maintaining your network.
- Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the organization.
- Research and Build relationships with clients.
- Entertaining of Certain Clients which require the additional attention
- Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet client needs.
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiations, led by Management.
- Submit fortnightly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
- Forecast sales and submit target monthly at Review meetings. Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company’s people and capabilities.
- Understand the company’s vision, goals and purpose so that it will enhance the Business Development department.
- Identifying additional larger scale business opportunities and securing. Identifying tender and possible contract for application.
- Increasing of knowledge in the Waste Management field for scope of services.
- Plays a part in the development of additional business services to the public that form part of the company’s vision.
- Calculating Quotations for Potential Clients, where applicable.
- Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs.
- On Site Waste Audits to create Total Waste Management Proposals to clients.
- Deliver the agreed sales volume.
- Make the company better known in the market.
- Is responsible for negotiations between the company and clients.
- Responsible for New Business Development via prospecting, qualifying, selling, services and products.
- Manage client relationship through all phases of the sales cycle.
- Provide a consultative solutions sales process to prospects.
- Conducts one-on-one and group sales presentations.
- Responsible for tracking customer information, forecasts and reports.
- Develop and maintain prospect and customer list based on strategic marketing data and other sources for sales leads in company software system.
