GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION (overview description of the job)

Manage and lead the projects department in execution of duties for purpose of opening and revamping of outlets.

Manage all project planning, design and execution for the Franchise stores including new stores, revamps and relocations.

Liaise, negotiate price and source suppliers for new fittings and maintenance

Conduct valuations of equipment used for stores (new or old equipment)

Plan, organise, lead and manage design and development of new shop concepts and equipment

Manage departmental staff in achieving all objectives.

Plans, organises, directs, controls and coordinates special programmes or projects

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION:

Projects:

  • Initialise and capture building project data through departmental and other meetings
  • Schedule project to execution through use of various data bases and documentation
  • Manage and control outlet design including assistance of draftspersons and critical path
  • Manage and negotiate franchisee and landlord requirements through discussions with stakeholders
  • Appoint contractors, nominate and interview, manage and control procedures
  • Manage and control project executive process (building works) through detailed management and control of critical path, budget, quality and deadlines
  • Manage and control the shop opening through achievement of deadlines and management of supplier deliverables
  • Manage project closure process including final settlements to turnkey
  • Benchmark allowable costs for the execution of projects by suppliers

 

Valuations:

  • Conduct survey of equipment on instructions from legal department
  • Establish value of equipment both new and replacement
  • Manage and control equipment handling process

Suppliers:

  • Source competent suppliers
  • Coordinate supplier appointments, manage workload and responsibilities of suppliers to control Franchisee and Franchisor risks
  • Manage and maintain customer/supplier relationships, resolve problems and issues
  • Manage obtain and approve pricing structure from suppliers

Franchisee enquiries, maintenance and development:

  • Handle all enquiries from franchisees and direct to relevant departments and service providers

New equipment development:

  • Source new equipment through identification of Franchisees, Staff and Directors meetings and instructions
  • Develop new equipment, manage and coordinate progress of design team, suppliers and other stakeholders

General department management:

  • Manage financial, HR and other resources
  • Display leadership skills management process
  • Build effective working teams, though suitable management approach
  • Identify training need (skills gap analysis) and notify HR/Training Department
  • Handle interdepartmental/individual conflict and apply suitable measures to combat/prevent it

Matric
