A Rubber Liner is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing rubber linings on various
industrial equipment and structures, such as tanks, pipes, and valves. These linings are crucial
in protecting equipment from corrosion, abrasion, and chemical damage, thereby extending
their lifespan and ensuring safe operation. The role demands precision, attention to detail, and
adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation:
Inspect surfaces to be lined and ensure they are clean, dry, and free from contaminants.
Prepare surfaces by sandblasting, grinding, or other methods as necessary to achieve optimal
adhesion.
Lining Installation:
Measure and cut rubber lining materials to fit specific surfaces.
Apply adhesives and bonding agents to surfaces and rubber lining materials.
Fit and position rubber linings, ensuring no bubbles, wrinkles, or gaps.
Use hand tools and power tools to trim and secure linings.
Curing and Testing:
Ensure proper curing of rubber linings by applying heat, pressure, or other methods as required.
Inspect completed linings for defects, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
Conduct testing on lined surfaces to verify integrity and adhesion.
Maintenance and Repair:
Inspect and maintain existing rubber linings, identifying areas of wear or damage.
Perform repairs on damaged linings, including patching, re-bonding, or replacing sections as
needed.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Documentation:
Keep accurate records of work performed, including materials used, methods applied, and any
issues encountered.
Report on the status of projects to supervisors and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in industrial coating, lining, or a related field is preferred.
Familiarity with different types of rubber materials and adhesives.
Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
