Job duties and responsibilities: 

  • Assistance with the preparation of client proposals and files
  • Prepare all paperwork for new client acquisitions as well as annual reviews
  • Assist in the preparation of financial planning proposals and presentations for clients.
  • Prepare financial reports, including cash flow projections, retirement planning analysis, and investment recommendations.
  • Preparation of Records of Advice for both Local and Offshore Investments
  • Assist Wealth managers with more technical tasks and relevant queries that require investigations or detailed calculations
  • Prepare and distribute monthly/quarterly/annual statements / certificates / communication
  • Keep track of assets under management
  • Maintain Client Relationship Management system
  • Rebalance and maintain of existing portfolios
  • Research of factsheets and product information
  • Compliance updates and processes
  • Deal with third party providers when issues arise
  • Check and ensure all new business is compliant after client has signed
  • Facilitate payment instructions for clients
  • FSB correspondence and updates
  • Handle general client queries
  • Any other administrative activity deemed necessary as part of the role
  • Knowledge of FICA requirements for South African accounts and the Know Your Client (KYC) process for offshore accounts is advantageous.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Degree in Financial Planning, Investment Management/ Finance or similar
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in the investment industry as paraplanner/ wealth management assistant
  • Broad knowledge of global financial markets/ offshore investment products advantageous
  • Regulatory Exams - RE 5
