Reports to: Work at Heights Manager
The Work at Heights (WAH) Facilitator is responsible for delivering high-quality training services focused on working at heights in compliance with South African health and safety regulations. This role includes both theoretical instruction and practical, hands-on training sessions, ensuring that trainees gain the necessary competence to work safely at heights. The facilitator will also be responsible for conducting on-site assessments and delivering client-specific WAH services at both client premises and Head Office locations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Training Delivery (Practical & Theoretical):
- Facilitate accredited and non-accredited Work at Heights training in accordance with SETA guidelines and client-specific requirements.
- Deliver both classroom-based theory and practical training modules, ensuring all learning outcomes are met.
- Continuously assess learner performance during training and provide constructive feedback and support.
- Ensure training is engaging, relevant, and adapted to different learner needs and industry sectors (e.g., construction, telecommunications, energy).
- Keep training materials up to date and aligned with current legislation and best practices.
2. Client-Facing Services:
- Conduct on-site WAH assessments and audits for clients, ensuring compliance with industry-specific safety regulations.
- Provide WAH training services at the Head Office or client premises as required.
- Advise clients on best practices and equipment for safe work at height operations.
- Complete detailed site visit reports, assessments, and recommendations following each client engagement.
3. Administrative Functions:
- Prepare and maintain accurate training documentation including attendance registers, learner portfolios, and assessment results.
- Ensure all training documentation is submitted timeously and in line with internal and SETA requirements.
- Assist in scheduling training sessions and managing learner bookings.
- Maintain learner databases and submit relevant documentation for certification and compliance audits.
4. Inspection, Service & Maintenance:
- Conduct required WAH services both on site and at Head Office for Clients
- Conduct quarterly inspections of all Work at Heights training equipment including harnesses, ropes, ladders, anchor points, and PPE.
- Ensure that all equipment used in training is safe, compliant, and properly maintained.
- Keep detailed records of inspections and report any defects or maintenance needs to the relevant department.
- Liaise with procurement or safety teams regarding replacement or upgrading of training gear.
