  • The role is client-facing, involves negotiating and communicating to senior levels, both internal and external, with the ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and work quickly and efficiently. You will provide support to senior transaction staff and directors, as well as other departments within the organisation. As the main point of contact with our clients, both in person, by email and over the telephone, a confident, presentable, and professional manner is an essential attribute for any candidate.
  • Education to a degree level is an essential requirement and experience in a similar role within corporate finance, or the wider finance community, would be beneficial although is not essential. In-house training will be provided and you will receive high levels of support from both your local and international peers. The role would be ideally suited to an individual with a passion for businesses and high levels of interest in the wider business world.
  • Experience in M&A deals necessary with business and finance knowledge is beneficial and desirable but we are looking for someone who will thrive in our fast-paced environment, bringing energy and enthusiasm to our team.

Key Competencies:

  • Understanding and experience in doing M&A transactions for SME clients desirable. The background can vary from Sales, Accounting, Banking, Finance or Commerce or even family business experience - but with the focus on understanding how to negotiate and conclude sell-side transactions whilst managing a the full office’s portfolio, and a team of M&A staff.
  • Understanding commercial terms together with interpretation of financial data to negotiate to maximum value.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills / manner.
  • Highly proficient numeracy with the ability to analyse and interpret financial information.
  • Proven negotiation skills, emotional intelligence and being able to deal with difficult situations, personalities and ambiguity.
  • Computer literate; experience of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and a CRM are essential.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to prioritise workload.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • An ability to manage and motivate team members with a portfolio of clients representing multiple projects at the same time where deals are at different stages. It will require the ability to apply good project management skills amidst changing priorities to drive transactions to completion.
  • Although travelling is not regular a valid driving licence and the ability to travel is essential.
