SCOPE:
All functions, duties and responsibilities of the Proposals Manager – Solutions
PURPOSE:
The Proposals Manager-Solutions will have the responsibility of coordinating all phases of the divisions’ solutions tendering process in response to customers’ Request for Information/Request for Proposals/Request for Quotations/Invitation to Tender (RFI/RFPs/RFQs/ITT). The ability to meet deadlines, a commitment to teamwork, and detailed follow-through will be the key to success in this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Manages the Installation, Operation, Maintenance and Repairs of Substation HV & EHV Equipment proposals preparations.
Review of technical proposal’s requirements as per the Invitation to Bid Documents and related contract specifications, drawings, etc.
Lead technical proposals discussions during proposals kick off and scope-review meetings with clients/partners and ensure agreements on responsibilities and contractual obligations.
Understand the products and services offering and approach of key competitors; communicate products and services differentiation to sales and provides input to management
Responsible for the co-ordination and review proposal input from other Departments, such as: Sales, Operations, Finance, Legal, Procurement, Engineering & Marketing
Ensure that Clients pricing and technical tender schedules are completed accurately.
Review and approves the project organization, overall project schedule, overall execution plan, overall resources plan developed by the Proposals Engineers.
Integrates proposal packages prepared by the individual Group Companies and Technology Partners and reconcile possible discrepancies.
Searching for new clients who could benefit from Company products/services in all sectors such as Mining, Energy, Petrochemical, Railways, Utilities and Industrial
Development of focus opportunities and formulation of complex value propositions that enhance the organisation's opportunity to successfully win contracts
Searching for new leads on the customers tender database.
Managing and maintaining the tender schedule.
Tracking of submitted tenders in line with the tender schedule
Keep abreast existing and new product developments in the market
Assist Sales & Marketing Executive in the identification, evaluation and ranking of risks as well as developing a strategy to manage and mitigate the risks to the Company.
Present to Sales & Marketing Executive for review the Cost Estimate in detail prior to review of the tender by Management.
Ad hoc reasonable duties as and when requested by the designated Line Manager
SHERQ MANAGEMENT (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001):
Responsible for adhering to the requirements of abovementioned systems as directed by the SHEQ Management System (which includes relevant legislation, Policies, Procedures, Work Instructions, specifications, etc.)
Ensure that Quality Assurance is confirmed to in every aspect, especially in the area of documentation control.
Ensures compliance with all standards for Safety, Environmental, Work Procedures and Quality
Assurance and Quality Control systems as adopted by the Division.
AUTHORITY:
Tender approvals as per the company tender approval/authorisation policies.
Management of a team of Proposals Engineers
Approve the cost estimate of internally performed activities developed by the Proposals Engineers
