Permanent - Qualified Red Seal Diesel Mechanic - Ekurhuleni (East Rand) - South Africa

Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks (engine, transmission, braking systems, suspension, electrical, etc.).

Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and manual techniques.

Perform preventative maintenance and service checks according to manufacturer standards and schedules.

Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and hours worked.

Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Perform breakdown support and emergency repairs when necessary (on-site or roadside).

Communicate effectively with the operations team regarding vehicle condition, downtime, and repair requirements.

Keep workshop area clean, safe, and organized.

Red Seal Trade Certificate in Diesel Mechanics (essential).

Minimum 3-5 years of experience working on heavy-duty trucks.

Solid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy commercial vehicles.

Proficient with diagnostic equipment and software.

Valid driver’s license.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Good communication and record-keeping skills.

Must be physically fit and able to work in demanding conditions.
