Purpose of the Job:

  • Responsible for contacting potential clients, assessing their financial needs, and offering debt counselling solutions. This role involves both inbound and outbound sales, lead follow-ups, and maintaining strong customer relationships while guiding clients toward financial stability.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Contact prospective clients via phone, email, or other communication channels.
  • Explain the benefits and process of debt counselling clearly and persuasively.
  • Conduct basic financial assessments to determine client eligibility for debt review.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and update CRM systems accordingly.
  • Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
  • Provide exceptional after-sales support and follow-ups.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and debt counselling policies (e.g., National Credit Act).
  • Handle objections and address client concerns in a professional manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., compliance, admin) to ensure smooth onboarding of clients.

Experience and Education:

  • Matric / National Senior Certificate
  • Registered Debt Counsellor (advantageous)
  • Insurance industry experience

 

Competency Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven experience in sales (preferably in debt counselling, financial services, or call centre).
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills – both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets.
  • Basic understanding of debt counselling, credit reports, and financial hardship solutions
  • Apply personal ethics, honesty, initiative, flexibility, responsibility, and confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.
  • Possess strong problem solving and decision-making skills while using good judgement.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Proficient in English & Afrikaans.
  • The ability to work independently.
