Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite personal lines risks including household contents, motor, all-risk, and building insurance.

• Assess new applications, renewals, amendments, and cancellations in line with company guidelines.

• Ensure accurate premium calculations, appropriate risk selection, and adherence to policy wording.

• Maintain effective communication with brokers, clients, and internal departments.

• Handle queries, escalations, and claims-related underwriting referrals efficiently.

• Stay informed of market trends and underwriting best practices.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in domestic/personal lines underwriting.

• Strong knowledge of short-term insurance products, policy wordings, and underwriting processes.

• Proficiency with underwriting systems and platforms (Cardinal experience preferred).

• FAIS-compliant with relevant insurance qualifications (e.g., NQF Level 4 or higher in Short-Term Insurance).
