Permanent - Sales Engineer - Ekurhuleni (East Rand) - South Africa

REPORTING TO THE MANAGING DIRECTOR

JOB PURPOSE:

Achieves maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by using specialised knowledge of the relevant technology to give customers the required information on operations and maintenance. Responsible for meeting a specific sales budget or target.

JOB FUNCTION:

90% of existing business is retained, market share is increased by obtaining new business, monthly and annual sales budget is met 

Products and services are delivered to customer as and when required

Company sales procedures are followed during sales calls 

All client requests are responded to within 24 hours

At least 36 client visits per month, conveyor Inspection when required and customer satisfaction is maintained

Customer information is captured and updated on the company's database

All expenditures are reconciled by due date 

Quotations are completed as and when required 

Feedback, near misses, incidents and innovations are logged on Sheqsys as they arise 

Call reports are prepared by due date

Attendance and participation at exhibitions as discussed with MD

Market research is conducted in designated areas 

Presentations are delivered to customer as required 

Opportunities are supported with point of sale material

QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12

Diploma in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering or technical trade added advantage 

At least 3 years relevant sales experience in a mining environment 

Sales Experience on Belt Cleaners, Lubrication Equipment, Light and Heavy-Duty Fastener will be advantageous. 

Customer focused, high quality work standards, persuasive, can build strategic working relationships and good communication skills 

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint)
