Job Description
The Salesperson forms part of a team that services existing customers and identifies new business to grow sales volume and profit sustainably. The role involves attending to customer requirements professionally and efficiently, ensuring a positive image of the company at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grow the customer base and service them to achieve sales and margin targets.
- Identify new customers, qualify their buying potential, and secure business.
- Handle all customer requirements, including quoting, invoicing, credit notes, and feedback.
- Process orders, quotations, and manual delivery notes accurately and timeously.
- Build detailed product and Star front technical knowledge to upsell and enhance customer experience.
- Assist customers with technical inquiries and support them in tender processes.
- Take full responsibility for cash, card, and EFT transactions until handed over correctly to the cash office.
- Resolve customer queries relating to pricing, back orders, credit notes, and returns.
- Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring customer expectations are managed.
- Maintain an organised filing system for quick and accurate document retrieval.
- Support the Branch Manager to ensure smooth branch operations and prevent losses.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures and company policies at all times.
- Participate in stock takes and perpetual counts, including overtime when necessary.
- Work after hours or weekends if required.
- Report any fraudulent, collusive, suspicious, or unproductive activities.
- Contribute to the company’s 20 Keys improvement program for productivity, housekeeping, security, and safety.
- Provide backup for other functions and assist with tasks that contribute to branch performance and personal development.
