Role Description
- The purpose of the role is to develop, fabricate, install and maintain equipment according to sound engineering practice and equipment specifications. The role reports to the Mechanical Foreman
Roles and Responsibilities
- Attend to callouts with regard to mechanical breakdowns
- Investigate, diagnose and perform trade related maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery according to maintenance requirements
- Maintenance repairs, fabrication and installation work on all Mining equipment
- Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations, manufacturing and Company standards
- Report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery in area of responsibility to the Foreman
- Remove and replace components to maintain steel fabrications.
- Develop, modify, construct and install related equipment required for the safe operation of all engineering equipment
- Identify spares requirements and order according to departmental procedure
- Communicate with clients and supervisors to inform on maintenance activities performed and re-start of equipment
- Create and maintain job cards
- Conduct on-the-job training for allocated apprentices.
- Responsible for good housekeeping in working area.
- Work overtime, standby and be available for call-outs should the need arise
- Diagnose and repair faults on equipment and machinery during production/operation
- Refurbish/overhaul machines
- Execution of Maintenance task lists and completion of SAP works orders
