Department: Business Systems (IT Division)
Purpose of the role:
The Intermediate Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is responsible for analysing, documenting, and facilitating business and system requirements across the company's core business applications. This role supports the successful delivery of projects and change initiatives by ensuring clarity and alignment between business stakeholders, developers, and testers.
The Intermediate BSA works closely with Product Owners, Developers, Testers, and Project Managers to translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and process flows. The role plays a key part in the SDLC by supporting solution design, requirement validation, and UAT coordination.
Outputs/Key Performance Areas:
Gather and document business and system requirements: Clear, validated BRDs, user stories, and process flows
Conduct stakeholder workshops and analysis sessions: Stakeholder needs clearly captured and prioritised
Create supporting documentation (flows, mockups, scenarios) - Documentation is complete, structured, and up to date
Support backlog grooming and sprint planning: Stories are clear, sized, and ready for development
Collaborate with Developers and Testers: Requirements translated into working solutions
Assist with UAT planning and coordination: UAT test cases defined; issues tracked and resolved
Maintain traceability of requirements across SDLC: Full lifecycle visibility from concept to deployment
Identify opportunities for process improvement: Recommendations made and logged for consideration
