Overview

As an internal sales representative, your main responsibility will be to provide superior customer service to foster strong relationships with customers and ultimately grow sales.  You will also be working closely with the external sales team, providing them with the necessary support to close deals and generate sales revenue for the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend to quotes, orders and any sales related enquiries via telephone, e-mail or walk-in customers.
  • Work closely with internal and external sales team to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Perform Internal Sales functions on behalf of other branches when assistance is needed.
  • Maintain an agreed level of pro-active telephone and e-mail contact with both existing and prospective customers.
  • Create and send quotes to customers.  Follow up on quotes sent.
  • Process orders received from customers or via Sales Engineers.
  • Source buy-outs from local suppliers, negotiate prices and place orders for such.
  • Pull back-order report daily to monitor orders not delivered either due to awaiting stock or credit limit issues.  Communicate with customers, Sales Engineers, Stock Controller and Credit Controller as necessary.
  • Ensure all back-orders in system are valid orders.  Investigate and clear any invalid orders.
  • Liaise between Stores, Stock Controller and customers to efficiently answer general enquiries concerning deliveries.
  • Run customer consignment stock process monthly and send count sheets to Sales Engineers, process usage and replenishments.
  • Assume full sales responsibility for Classic customer accounts allocated to you including achieving set sales targets for these customers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, sales activities, and pipeline progress using the company's CRM system.
  • Develop an understanding of the company's products and services to effectively communicate their value propositions to customers.
  • Collaborate with the external sales team to execute sales strategies, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • General filing within the sales department.
  • Partake in company stock counts (usually bi-annually).
  • Any ad hoc duties that reasonably fall within the employee’s skills, experience and training.

Experience required:

Previous experience in a sales support or customer service role or knowledge of the manufacturing/ engineering industry and cutting tools is highly desirable.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills.
