Permanent - Workshop Assistant - Johannesburg - South Africa

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Workshop Apprentice to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for a recent school leaver who is eager to start a hands-on career in a workshop environment. The successful candidate will receive onsite training and mentorship from experienced tradespeople, gaining practical skills in mechanical, electrical, and workshop operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist skilled tradespeople with the maintenance, repair, and assembly of equipment and machinery.
• Perform basic mechanical and workshop tasks under supervision.
• Learn to operate tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness, orderliness, and safety standards.
• Follow instructions and complete tasks assigned by supervisors.
• Assist with stock control and inventory management of tools and parts.
• Participate actively in on-the-job training and skill development programs.

Key Requirements:

• Completed school education (Matric/Grade 12 preferred).
• Genuine interest in mechanical or electrical trades and workshop operations.
• Willingness to learn and participate in structured onsite training.
• Basic understanding of workshop tools and equipment is advantageous.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Medically fit and able to handle physically demanding tasks.
