The Junior Bookkeeper is responsible for assisting in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported. The role supports the finance department with day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial administration tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, receipts, payments, and invoices.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and company accounts.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and management accounts.
- Maintain accurate filing systems for invoices, receipts, and other financial documents.
- Process payroll and ensure statutory deductions (PAYE, UIF, SDL) are accurate and submitted on time.
- Support with VAT calculations and submissions.
- Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor queries.
- Track and monitor petty cash and company expenses.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
