Key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

Contract Management

  • Drafting contracts, reviewing contracts, renewal of contracts and legal letters.
  • Management of original contracts.
  • Registration of contracts.
  • Utilization of the New Legal Service System.

 

Disputes and Liability Management

  • Manage all disputes, settlement claims and lawsuits and attend all court hearings.
  • Management of contingent liability evaluation and reporting.
  • Manage all disputes and litigation matters to ensure the interests of company are always protected.
  • Assess all contingent liability and report on these to enable financial considerations when budgeting.
  • CCMA attendance.

 

Administration

  • Legal administration and processing of invoices.
  • General legal queries and advice.
  • Drafting terms and conditions for competitions.
  • Keeping accurate records and filing.
  • FSE Rental Administration including sourcing of houses, reviewing lease agreements, rental processing and all queries relating thereto.

 

Reporting

  • Regular reporting.
  • Jeong Do Training for all employees.
  • Legal training on legislation for all staff as and when required.
  • Full compliance function.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum LLB Degree
  • Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in legal industry
  • Overall understanding of all Acts and Regulations
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of commercial law and litigation
  • Experience in logistics and labour law would be advantageous

  • Regular advice and reports being provided to high level management such as CFO and GMs.

  • Accuracy in preparing legal documentation.
  • Ability to advise on legal issues related to the company business.
  • Ability to convey legal opinion clearly and accurately
  • Highly effective communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think dynamically
  • Maturity and ability to understand and comply with a high level of ethics and confidentiality
