We are seeking an organised, detail-oriented, and proactive Storeman to oversee the efficient operation of our storeroom. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in stock management, excellent accuracy in data capturing, and hands-on knowledge of Syspro. This role involves supervising store staff, managing stock levels, ensuring smooth receipt and issuing of materials, and maintaining a clean and well-organised stores environment. The Storeman will work closely with the Head Buyer to ensure proper procurement and inventory control procedures are followed.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the storeroom.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation within the stores area.
  • Supervise and support staff working within the storeroom.
  • Receive all incoming deliveries and verify quantities and quality of goods.
  • Accurately capture all deliveries into Syspro and ensure correct documentation.
  • Double-check all data entries to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Dispense consumables and stock in line with company procedures and authorisation processes.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure adequate availability of all items.
  • Notify and report to the Head Buyer regarding required purchases, stock shortages, or issues.
  • Assist in stock counts, reconciliations, and general inventory control.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and audit requirements.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Storeman or in a similar stores/inventory management role.
  • Syspro experience is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in data capturing.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage and supervise staff effectively.
  • Knowledge of stock control principles and inventory procedures.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Physically fit and able to handle manual stock movement when required.
