We are seeking an organised, detail-oriented, and proactive Storeman to oversee the efficient operation of our storeroom. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in stock management, excellent accuracy in data capturing, and hands-on knowledge of Syspro. This role involves supervising store staff, managing stock levels, ensuring smooth receipt and issuing of materials, and maintaining a clean and well-organised stores environment. The Storeman will work closely with the Head Buyer to ensure proper procurement and inventory control procedures are followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the storeroom.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation within the stores area.
- Supervise and support staff working within the storeroom.
- Receive all incoming deliveries and verify quantities and quality of goods.
- Accurately capture all deliveries into Syspro and ensure correct documentation.
- Double-check all data entries to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Dispense consumables and stock in line with company procedures and authorisation processes.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure adequate availability of all items.
- Notify and report to the Head Buyer regarding required purchases, stock shortages, or issues.
- Assist in stock counts, reconciliations, and general inventory control.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and audit requirements.
