The Transport and Compliance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily transport operations while ensuring full compliance with legal, safety, and company requirements. This role plays a critical part in fleet management, driver compliance, safety monitoring, and administrative oversight, while supporting operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Transport Operations & Fleet Management
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily transport operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Process and manage weekly fleet service schedules.
- Log vehicle breakdowns with service providers and coordinate repairs as required.
- Book and manage vehicle servicing, repairs, and inspections.
- Monitor in-vehicle cameras and conduct regular spot checks.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and ensure roadworthiness.
- Process diesel and parking orders for drivers.
- Compile, review, and process driver trip sheets.
- Complete and monitor driver hours on a daily basis.
- Prepare and complete documentation for border clearance when required.
Compliance & Monitoring
- Capture, monitor, and report on the Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) scoring system.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date driver and vehicle compliance files.
- Conduct random job observations and in-cab monitoring of drivers.
- Ensure all driver and administrative compliance training is current and valid.
- Monitor adherence to company policies, best practices, and customer requirements.
Training & Administration
- Book driver training and conduct system training where required.
- Supervise and support administrative staff.
- Assist the General Manager as required with operational and compliance-related tasks.
Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable National and Local Legislation, including relevant Acts, Laws, and Standards.
- Stay informed of legislative updates and assess their impact on company operations.
- Oversee and support contract compliance with company policies, best practices, and customer requirements.
- Conduct inspections and compliance checks to ensure staff, visitors, and contractors adhere to SHE policies and procedures.
- Engage with client and contract Safety Departments to ensure SHE requirements are met and maintained.
- Investigate all incidents and accidents within required timeframes and submit reports to Management.
- Monitor PPE stock levels and ensure availability for staff.
- Ensure all on-site safety equipment is functional, serviced, and inspected.
- Liaise with local Emergency Management Services and ensure compliance with emergency requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits, including regulatory audits by Government Departments (DoL and DoT).
- Ensure site security measures are implemented, monitored, and maintained.
