Role Summary:

Key Performance Areas:
FINANCIAL PERSPECTIVE:
Ensure there is enough budget for training of employees for machinery and legislative training such as First Aid.
Overseeing safety for workers through inspections, audits, and research in all company sites.
Ensure that the company pays carbon tax on a pro rata basis.
Ensure the is budget for incidents or accidents that are unexpected incase machinery or expensive equipment has to be procured
INTERNAL BUSINESS PROCESS PERSPECTIVE:
Developing and enforcing safety policies and procedures to ensure employee compliance with safety regulations.
Ensuring that safety equipment is available, such as hard hats and respirators
Responsible for identifying and resolving workplace hazards, ensuring compliance with regulations and developing safety programs.
Ensure compliance with Occupational regulations and standards, By laws, Radioactive audits ,water testing for bacteria.
Makes sure skips for waste are removed timeously to avoid a health hazard.
Ensures safety meetings are conducted and analyze Incident data and identify trends recommend actions to avoid Incidents across the organization.
To highlight areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, or H.S.E. guidance.
Participate in the planning of programmes that will address problem areas and ensure implementation of the identified interventions.
In charge of safety as the security company directly report to him and ensure drug and alcohol tests are conducted
Manages records management and verification of documents
CUSTOMER/STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS PERSPECTIVE:
Manage relationship with all internal departments and provide support where needed.
Attends to unions in terms of safety and introduction of new safety equipment, protocols, new PPE.
Liase with department of Labour through reporting regulary
ORGANISATION & GROWTH PERSPECTIVE:
Monitoring employee safety performance to identify areas for improvement
Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks raise safety awareness and improve safe work practices and develop and recommend improvements to all Quality Management systems
Interfaces effectively with peers and peer organizations improvement and quality– to achieve the Company's goals and objectives.
Ensure audits of customer sites and plant as a Section 16 Legal Appointee.
Drives safety initiatives and evaluating safety improvements and opportunities
