The Head of Sales & Supply Chain Operations is responsible for leading the strategic planning, execution, and management of sales and supply chain operations to achieve revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion objectives. This role oversees end-to-end sales performance, procurement, inventory, logistics, and supplier management while fostering strong customer relationships and cross-functional collaboration.
The incumbent will build and lead high-performing sales and supply chain teams, ensure compliance with quality and governance standards, and deliver value-added engineering and supply chain solutions in a dynamic, competitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Management
Revenue & Financial Performance
- Manage and grow a revenue portfolio of approximately R500 million.
- Assume full Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring.
- Drive sustainable revenue growth and margin improvement aligned with organisational objectives.
- Identify and evaluate new market opportunities and cross-business collaboration initiatives.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports and business reviews to executive leadership.
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement business unit strategies aligned with overall corporate vision and growth objectives.
- Translate strategic objectives into operational plans with clearly defined KPIs.

- Ensure SLAs are established, monitored, and regularly reviewed.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Oversee procurement, allocation, and logistics of electronic components.
- Manage inventory levels to meet service targets while optimising working capital.
- Monitor slow-moving, excess, dormant, and redundant stock.
- Conduct daily inventory checks and approve purchase orders.
- Ensure purchase orders align with confirmed customer demand and backorders.
Logistics & Operations
- Oversee inbound freight, delivery performance, and Incoterms compliance.
- Coordinate logistics with expeditors and freight forwarders.
- Manage ship-and-debit processes and non-conformances.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and asset teams to maintain optimal stock profiles.
People Leadership
- Lead and develop procurement, inventory control, and logistics teams.
- Define clear roles, responsibilities, and performance objectives.
- Build technical capability in procurement negotiation, inventory optimisation, and supplier management.
- Promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
