We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven External Sales Consultant to join our team within the tiling industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing strong customer relationships, securing product specifications, and driving sales from initial engagement through to final delivery.
This role requires a proactive, customer-focused professional with solid technical knowledge of tiling products and the ability to provide tailored solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Consistent achievement of sales targets and long-term relationship building will be key to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Establish, maintain, and grow relationships with new and existing customers to secure specifications and achieve assigned sales targets.
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets by maintaining a strong and healthy sales pipeline.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and client engagement through to quotation, specification, order confirmation, payment, and delivery to site.
- Proactively identify new business opportunities through cold calling, site visits, face-to-face meetings, networking, referrals, and industry events.
- Qualify prospects in line with company criteria and develop strategies to convert them into long-term customers.
Customer Consultation & Relationship Management
- Engage with customers to understand their business needs, project timelines, budgets, and decision-making processes.
- Present suitable product solutions aligned to customer requirements and project specifications.
- Conduct professional presentations and product demonstrations to architects, contractors, senior managers, and other key stakeholders.
- Prepare and issue accurate quotations, proposals, and related correspondence using company POS and communication systems.
- Maintain regular contact with customers to ensure satisfaction and foster long-term partnerships.
Market & Product Knowledge
- Maintain a strong understanding of tiling products, industry trends, competitor activity, and market opportunities.
- Provide feedback to management on emerging trends, competitive threats, and potential gaps in product offerings.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure product availability aligns with customer expectations and project timelines.
Reporting & Administration
- Accurately capture and maintain customer and sales data across company systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Prepare and present weekly sales activity reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates during sales meetings.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, quotations, and project progress for effective follow-up and reference.
Collaboration & Brand Representation
- Work closely with marketing to identify sales support needs and assist with the development of effective sales tools and materials.
- Share sales insights, market intelligence, and best practices with colleagues to strengthen team performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards at all times.
- Act as a professional brand ambassador, representing the company with integrity and a strong customer-first mindset.
