Job Purpose
- The Country Manager will spearhead company's operations in Zambia, focusing on the mining sector.
- This role involves prospecting at mines, leveraging an established network, analyzing dewatering pump systems, and promoting our pumps, valves, and pipework solutions.
- The successful candidate will be a self-starter with proven pump expertise, capable of driving sales and building lasting client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively call on various mines across Zambia to identify needs, conduct site assessments, and demonstrate company's fluid handling products.
- Analyze pump water systems for dewatering pumps, evaluating performance, efficiency, and recommending optimizations or upgrades.
- Develop and implement a targeted sales strategy for pumps, valves, pipework, and pump fitting solutions in the mining industry.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholders in mining companies, utilizing an existing network to generate leads and secure contracts.
- Manage the end-to-end sales process, from initial outreach to negotiation, installation support, and ongoing client service.
- Stay abreast of market dynamics, competitive landscape, and regulatory requirements in Zambia's mining sector.
- Handle local operational aspects, such as logistics, compliance with safety standards, and potential team oversight.
- Provide regular reports on sales metrics, opportunities, and strategic insights to headquarters.
- Explore avenues for business development and contribute to company 's regional expansion plans.

Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in the pump industry, including hands-on work with dewatering pumps, valves, pipework, and pump fitting/installation.
- Established network and relationships within Zambian mining companies, ideally in sectors like copper or cobalt extraction.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot pump water systems for dewatering applications, with strong technical acumen.
- At least 5-7 years in sales, technical consulting, or management within mining equipment or fluid handling.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mining, or equivalent) or relevant professional experience.
- Proven self-starter with initiative, independence, and the drive to thrive in a dynamic, field-based role.
- Readiness for extensive travel within Zambia and occasional trips to South Africa.
- Fluency in English; familiarity with local languages (e.g., Bemba or Nyanja) advantageous.
- Valid driver's license and legal eligibility to work in Zambia.
