A well-established company in the supply and distribution sector within the ceilings, partitions, and construction materials industry is seeking a Procurement Officer to join their team based at Head Office in Durban.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting procurement operations across multiple branches, ensuring efficient purchasing processes, maintaining stock levels, and assisting with supplier coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure non-stock items, including consumables, repairs and maintenance items, packaging materials, cleaning supplies, and PPE.
- Monitor and maintain stock ordering levels to ensure optimal inventory across branches.
- Track and review daily and weekly order reports.
- Generate and manage purchase orders.
- Prepare variance reports and review findings with relevant departmental heads.
- Perform all administrative duties associated with procurement activities.
- Facilitate and participate in weekly inter-branch procurement meetings.
- Provide support to the Senior Buyer with international purchasing activities.
- Assist in coordinating procurement requirements across branches to ensure operational efficiency.
