Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Manager
Job Function:
The Sales Representative is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers, and promoting the company's products and services to achieve sales targets. The role focuses on understanding customer needs, providing technical and product support, preparing and delivering sales proposals, and ensuring customer satisfaction through consistent communications and service excellence. This position plays a key role in driving revenue growth, market expansion, and strengthening the organisation's competitive position.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain existing customer base through regular contact to discuss established product and new product implementation
Monitoring and reporting on competitor's activities.
Extend the customer base by finding new and sustainable customers
Ensure the company's equipment is specified
Ensure that specification changes are communicated to the tendering staff
Submit tender documents, attend tender openings and clarification sessions and ensure that all tender feedback is suitably recorded for future market analysis
Compile an annual plan and budget for roadshow, key customer visits, and exhibitions that should be attend by the Company
Travel to SADC countries to market the company's products when needed
Coordinate and conduct factory visits (customers to the company's factory)
Coordinate and attend marketing shows such as AMEU, Electra Mining, Enlit etc
Monitor publications for any tenders
Obtain tender documents from customers
Aid customers in compiling specifications and/or tender documents where needed
Follow up on tenders
Control information flow between the company and client
Act as a company representative in a professional and ethical way
Maintain knowledge in respect of the product offering and product capabilities
