Permanent - Artwork DTP Operator - Ekurhuleni (East Rand) - South Africa

Role Overview:

Position requires a detail-oriented Artwork DTP Operator to prepare print-ready artwork for label production. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in design software, a solid understanding of print processes, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare and set up print-ready files for production on on a WS 6800 Digital Indigo Press 

Perform typesetting, layout adjustments, and artwork corrections

Make additions and changes to client-supplied artwork files

Generate and send electronic proofs to clients

Print and check physical proofs for accuracy 

Carry out imposition and create templates for digital print jobs

Ensure all artwork meets required print specifications and quality standards

Assist with occasional design work when required

Minimum Requirements:

Proven experience as a DTP Operator, preferably in a label or print production environment

Proficiency in:

Adobe Illustrator 

Adobe Photoshop

Adobe InDesign

Experience working on Apple Mac systems 

Strong understanding of print production processes and preparing files for digital printing

Preferred Experience:

Experience working with digital presses, specifically WS 6800 Digital Indigo Press (advantageous)

Background in label printing or packaging industry

Working Hours:  Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30
