Junior Sales & Marketing Assistant

To support the growth of the business by identifying new sales opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships, and executing marketing initiatives that enhance brand visibility. This role is ideal for a driven, high-energy individual seeking to develop into a Sales Representative or Marketing Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and generate new business leads
  • Perform cold calling and emailing to secure meetings for senior sales team members
  • Assist with preparing quotations, processing orders, and managing client queries
  • Maintain strong customer relationships to ensure high levels of satisfaction
  • Compile and submit weekly sales activity reports (ADAPT reports) against targets

Marketing & Brand Awareness

  • Assist in managing social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram), including scheduling posts and engaging with audiences
  • Support the execution of marketing campaigns, activations, and events (e.g., trade shows, community expos)
  • Ensure all sales and marketing collateral (brochures, business cards, presentations) is up to date and available
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends within South Africa and report insights to management

Key Requirements & Qualifications

Education

  • Matric (Grade 12) – essential
  • Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Sales, or Business Management – advantageous

Experience

  • 0–2 years’ relevant experience in sales, marketing, or a related field

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Basic knowledge of Canva or similar design tools (advantageous)
  • Understanding of digital marketing principles (SEO, social media algorithms)

Soft Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Additional South African languages (e.g., isiZulu, Afrikaans, Sesotho) are advantageous
  • Results-driven with high resilience and initiative
  • Professional presentation and conduct for client-facing interactions

  • Lead conversion rate (qualified leads generated for senior sales team)
  • Weekly activity levels (calls, emails, outreach efforts)
  • Consistency in social media and content delivery
  • Accuracy and efficiency in administrative tasks (quotes, invoices)
