The Transport Clerk is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support for the transportation/fleet operations. This includes scheduling of loads, co-ordinating with carries/transporters, maintaining records, answering customer queries and managing transportation records.

Position: Transport Controller Industry: Freight Inherent Requirements: • Education: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Certification in transportation management or logistics is preferred. • Experience: • Proven experience in a similar role within the freight industry. • Familiarity with transport management systems (TMS) and logistics software. • Physical Abilities: • Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment. • Physically able to perform tasks such as standing, walking, and lifting heavy objects when required. • Communication Skills: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to effectively communicate with drivers, customers, and team members. • Organizational Skills: • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks. • Attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely transport operations. • Problem-Solving Abilities: • Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions promptly. • Critical thinking skills to mitigate risks and resolve transport-related challenges. • Knowledge: • Understanding of freight regulations, compliance requirements, and safety standards. • Knowledge of route planning, load optimization, and delivery scheduling. • Customer Service: • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with clients. • Ability to handle inquiries, complaints, and requests from customers in a professional manner. • Teamwork: • Ability to collaborate with colleagues, drivers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth transport operations. • Willingness to support team members and contribute to a positive work environment. • Adaptability: • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and operational requirements. • Willingness to work non-traditional hours or shifts as needed to support 24/7 freight operations.
