Position Overview

  • The HR Manager will oversee all human resources functions for employees based on employer sites as well as customer sites across South Africa. This role requires strong expertise in labour relations, compliance with South African legislation, and experience in managing international reporting lines to EMEA.
  • The HR Manager will act as a strategic business partner to line managers, ensuring alignment of HR practices with business objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Labour Relations: Lead disciplinary processes, manage union relationships, represent the company at CCMA hearings, and ensure compliance with bargaining council agreements.
  • Compliance Management: Oversee BBBEE, POPIA, Employment Equity, and Skills Development submissions.
  • Payroll & Benefits: Manage outsourced payroll providers (Sage300), employee benefits, and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Drive talent acquisition, onboarding, and workforce planning.
  • Training & Development: Implement learning initiatives, leadership development, and succession planning.
  • Restructuring & Change Management: Support organizational restructuring, workforce optimization, and change management projects.
  • Employee Engagement: Foster a positive work culture, manage performance management systems, and drive employee satisfaction.
  • HR Team Leadership: Lead and develop the HR team, ensuring delivery of high-quality HR services.
  • HR Cost Centre Management: Manage HR budgets, negotiate with HR vendors, and oversee HR-related projects.
  • International Reporting: Collaborate with EMEA HR leadership, ensuring alignment with global HR standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: HR degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: At least 7 years’ experience as an HR Manager.
  • International Exposure: Proven experience with international reporting lines, preferably to EMEA.
  • Labour Relations Expertise: Strong background in labour relations, CCMA representation, and union negotiations.
  • Legislation Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of South African labour laws and regulatory frameworks.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with HRIS systems, payroll management, and employee benefits administration.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead HR teams and manage outsourced service providers.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally within South Africa.
