The Internal Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling products to customers via telephone and email. The role focuses on generating sales, maintaining strong customer relationships, processing quotations and orders, and proactively following up on sales opportunities. The successful candidate will contribute to achieving sales targets while ensuring excellent customer service and efficient administration of sales processes.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Service
- Promote and sell products to existing and prospective customers via telephone and email.
- Grow sales by identifying opportunities and converting leads into customers.
- Conduct cold-calling activities to generate new business opportunities.
- Maintain regular communication with customers regarding quotations, orders, and product information.
- Follow up on previously issued quotations according to established procedures.
- Provide professional and efficient customer service at all times.
Sales Administration
- Maintain and update customer and sales databases accurately and efficiently.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to customer enquiries.
- Prepare and send customer quotations.
- Process and issue proforma invoices via email.
- Process customer orders accurately using the Sage system.
- Run sales and order reports and communicate any relevant updates or changes to customers.
Reporting & Meetings
- Attend weekly sales meetings and strategy sessions.
- Prepare and submit weekly reports on:
- Sales performance
- Customer feedback
- Market opportunities and potential leads
- Provide daily updates on lead follow-ups, market intelligence, and sales activities to management.
- Monitor and report on market trends and customer requirements.
