Reporting to the Commercial Manager

Key Performance Areas:

Manage the tender process from receipt/collection of tender documents through to submission and follow-up, ensuring closing dates and internal signing authorities are met.

Interpret customer specifications and drawings; compile tender pricing, budget prices and tender documentation.

Coordinate technical and commercial inputs with internal stakeholders, maintain the tender system and keep tender documentation current.

Monitor costings, gross margins and commercial risks, and obtain approval where lower-margin submissions are required.

Liaise with customers and consultants, assist with requirements and budget pricing, arrange customer visits and support tender clarifications.

Review commercial terms and technical details when tenders become orders, support handover to Contracts, promote the company’s image and support after-sales requirement.

Assist with circuit/logic design and supplier vetting when required, ensuring technically acceptable and cost-effective solutions.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

N4 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, with acquired knowledge of electrical engineering.

Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in tendering, commercial engineering or a similar medium-voltage/manufacturing environment.

Working knowledge of Medium Voltage switchgear, electrical systems, tendering processes and contract/commercial requirements.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and client requirements, and to prepare costings, budgets and commercial proposals.

Computer literacy, including MS Office and estimating/tendering software or systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tenders and tight deadlines.

Ability to work with engineering, finance, contracts and commercial teams, and to travel for client meetings or site visits when required.

Advantageous:

Knowledge of local and international tendering regulations/standards and broader manufacturing or after-sales service exposure.
