REPORTING TO THE MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT
JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for manufacturing level costs and control including cost accounting, bill of material audits, and cost analysis. Supports month-end close and special projects as requested.
JOB FUNCTION:
• Perform daily costing of standard and custom products; conduct ad hoc cost analyses for operations.
• Conduct weekly investigation of ledger against sub-ledger differences based on the Frozen Cost Difference Report
• Update costing elements: Quarterly updates to work centre rates, global costs, and inter-company pricing based on raw materials and budget changes.
• Review Bills of Materials (BOM) and routings daily to ensure correctness.
• Audit BOMs monthly to reflect the latest manufacturing practices.
• Maintain General Ledger Class Codes and Category Codes as required.
• Submit monthly sensitivity analysis comparing future vs current costs, and profitability analysis of quoted price vs actual cost to the Commercial Manager.
• Analyse and report actual labour, material, and overhead costs vs Standard/Budget monthly to the Commercial Manager
• Update and apply cost accounting policies and procedures and maintenance of SEIFSA-indexed contracts on schedule.
• Overseeing daily and monthly processes such as JDE approvals, variance investigations, WIP reviews, and job closures.
• Inventory and costing updates: Perform bi-annual cost updates, obsolete stock reviews, and support planners with system training and pricing updates.
