Job Purpose:
- The incumbent in this position will plan, coordinate the implementation and maintenance of the SHE strategic vison, objectives and policies as laid down by the SHE strategy through the monitoring of all SHE risks ensuring compliance with legislation.
Description of key performance areas:
- Leadership - Ensures SHE is the number one value on the plant, leading by example.
- Risk - Coordinates site risk assessments within operation departments.
- IMS - Serves as IMS coordinator for Site specific SOPS, WI and records.
- Compliance – Assists the Risk & Compliance Specialist to ensure that legal requirements for health, safety and environment are maintained in the workplace, with all statutory appointments being made and maintained.
- Contractor Management - Ensure safety files are audited before commencement of work and are up to date.
- Security - Follow up on all security related threats and investigations.
- Clinic - Oversee medicals schedule and ensure that medicals are carried out on all employees.
- Training - Ensures SHE structure is developed and maintained.
- Inspections - Ensures that inspections are done on all portable fire equipment, safety showers, eye wash fountains, first aid boxes.
- Waste - Develop and maintain waste identification per department.
- Incident Investigation - Follow up on all non-conformances and complaints – Maintain records and ensure nonconformances tie back with audits.
- Audits - Participate in the internal auditing programme (IMS)
