  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Manager to lead and manage all health, safety, environmental, and compliance activities across our operations.
  • The successful candidate will ensure compliance with legislative requirements, company standards, client specifications, and industry best practices while promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organisation.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Health & Safety Management Systems.

     

     

  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor site compliance and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure effective root cause analysis.
  • Compile and submit safety reports to management and clients.
  • Ensure all employees possess valid certifications and competency requirements. 

     

     

  • Maintain training matrixes and compliance records.
  • Monitor legal appointments and statutory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to site management teams on safety matters.

     

     

  • Participate in project planning to ensure safety requirements are incorporated.
  • Manage emergency preparedness plans and drills.
  • Oversee contractor and subcontractor safety compliance.

     

     

  • Promote a proactive safety culture across all sites.
  • Coach and mentor Safety Officers and Safety Representatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to health and safety performance.

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Computer literate (MS Office, particularly Excel and Outlook).
  • National Diploma or Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Management, or related field.
  • SAMTRAC / Nebosh International or equivalent recognised safety qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a Safety Management role.
  • HIRA, Legal liability, Incident investigation certification.
  • Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Mine Health and Safety Act (where applicable).
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and audits.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow up independently.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
National Diploma or Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Management, or related field.
