Essential Requirements:
1. BSc/BTech Chemical/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or BSc/BTech Chemistry and a Higher Certificate/Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain/Transport Management is essential.
Alternatively, a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Transport, combined with extensive experience in industrial gases, will be considered.
2. Continuous Improvement (CI) and/or Management qualifications will be an added advantage.
3. A minimum of 10 – 15 years of logistics and transportation experience in an industrial gases/chemical manufacturing environment, of which 8 years need to be in a senior capacity.
4. A minimum of 5 – 8 years of people management experience which includes union engagement, negotiations and management.
5. Proven understanding and experience in deploying Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to improve demand forecasting accuracy, analyse supply chain data to identify risks and guide smarter decision-making, and apply AI-driven insights to streamline product supply, manage inventory effectively and streamline route planning.
6. Proven understanding and experience working with safety regulations, including those outlined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
7. Extensive proven experience in dangerous goods fleet management is critical.
8. Understanding of procedural best practices in supply chain management.
9. Ability to lead, train and mentor employees individually and as a team.
10. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
11. Strong negotiation skills.
12. Ability to handle medium-scale operations and uphold complex business agreements.
