Permanent - Application Engineer - Ekurhuleni (East Rand) - South Africa

Main responsibilities for this position are as follows:

• Training customers on company
• Install and commission company Systems
• Assist and support company applications at System Integration partner companies
• Load Software options.
• Assist in Installing Robomachines
• R&D for new applications
• Grow existing business
• Through the identification of opportunities at existing customers
• Through the understanding of new applications with new technologies that are currently available
• Assist in bi-annual stock-take

Regular measurements will be conducted and will be based on:

• Monthly budget – The budget is set out by the Sales manager together with management and the overseas head office.
• Performance against this budget will be measured, depending on actual market conditions.

• Customers – on all levels
• Sales Manager
• Finance Department
• Managing Director

Experience:

• Experience with Industrial Robots and CNC machines would be an added advantage (electrical/electronic/mechanical)
• Knowledge of CNC machines and automated robotic arms are beneficial but not essential.
• PLC/ladder experience (Read and understand only).
• Knowledge of general factory automation.
• Troubleshooting experience is a must.
• Candidate must be computer literate.
• Ability to use various electronic measuring instruments. (digital multimeter, insulation resistance meter)

National Diploma Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics (S4+1yr practical) 

Or

Bachelors Degree in one of the following fields:

Electrical/Electronic Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Mechatronic Engineering

Or

Qualified Electrician/Millwright.
At least N6 Electrical/Electronic Engineering certificate from a recognised technical college

Work Environment:

• The position requires that work be conducted at customers premises in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa (from time to time).
• Ability to work overtime and flexible hours when required.
• Ability to work under stress.
• Ability to work in noisy and dirty environments.
• Ability to multi-task.
