Overview:

Position requires a highly organised and proactive Procurement Assistant to support our Procurement Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior candidate who is administratively strong, enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and is looking to build a career in procurement and supply chain management.

The successful candidate does not need extensive procurement experience but must demonstrate exceptional organisational ability, attention to detail, confidence when dealing with suppliers, and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue purchase orders.
  • Obtain quotations from suppliers.
  • Follow up on outstanding orders and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier documentation.
  • Update procurement spreadsheets and ERP/system information.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, delivery dates and order queries.
  • Monitor order progress and escalate delays where necessary.
  • Assist with supplier onboarding and documentation.
  • Support inventory replenishment activities as directed.
  • Liaise with Production, Warehouse, Finance and other departments to ensure material availability.
  • File and maintain procurement records accurately.
  • Perform general administrative duties within the Procurement Department.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or similar will be advantageous but is not essential.
  • One to three years’ experience in an administrative role; procurement or purchasing experience would be beneficial but is not mandatory.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Experience using an ERP or purchasing system would be advantageous.
  • Strong computer literacy.
