Permanent - Production Shift Manager - eThekwini (Durban) - South Africa

Description of key performance areas:

• Manage and support the production team leaders and other plant personnel.
• Leads continuous improvement in line with LSS and 5S principles.
• Produce final products according to the production schedule and fully exploit opportunities to improve
• production efficiency and quality.
• Ensures the highest standards of SHE is maintained throughout the site and works with the team to continually
• improve performance.
• Ensures any product non-conformity is reported immediately and assists in the root cause analysis.
• Ensures, through routine monitoring and auditing that the plant and equipment is in safe and efficient working
• order and works with engineering to ensure any issues are addressed promptly
• Audit all daily and weekly checks.
• Carries out accident and incident investigation relating to their shift and areas of responsibility.
• Responsible for writing and authorizing Permits-to-Work as and when required.
• Be accountable for the site in management’s absence.
• Take part and give input in the stock take activities.

Minimum Critical competencies

• Attention to detail, commitment, positive attitude, ability to work in a team, punctuality, customer focus.

Qualifications: Degree/Diploma in Chemical or Process Engineering
Experience: 5 years on a Chemical manufacturing site
