Role Summary
Main function – disassemble, refurbish, report, test, and assemble all components related to the Reman gearbox section. Candidate must also be versatile and able to rotate between other sections e.g. Gearbox, Hydraulic Cylinders and Hydraulic Pumps etc.
Accountabilities / Key Performance Areas
- Follow all safe work practices
- Strip / Assemble Gearboxes, Splitter Boxes, Final Drive’s, Wheel Stations
- Assess disassembled component
- Reporting on all failures
- Test the component after assembly
Primary Responsibilities
- Assemble component parts by hand and with the aid of machinery
- Clean up work area daily
- Attention to detail
- Work according to best practice work instructions
- Follow assembly procedures relevant standards and policies
- Ensure that quality and safety is always adhered to
- Ensure that all the paperwork for components received are in order
- Disassemble, refurbish, report and assemble gearboxes, final drives, wheel stations etc.
- Adhere to Safety and Health regulations
- Testing of the components
- Housekeeping
- Assist with the quoting process of the disassembled component
- Rotate between other sections in the Reman centre (Engine, Cylinder & Hydraulic Pump sections)
- Must be willing to work overtime
