REPORTING TO THE ENGINEERING EXECUTIVE
JOB PURPOSE:
To manage the Drawing Office operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of high-quality drawings. This role includes maintaining compliance with standards, supporting various stakeholders including sales and production teams and project management, and maintaining an environment that supports the effective execution of customer orders.
JOB FUNCTION:
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and address areas for continuous improvement, including drawing office related systems and processes
Implement product improvement in conjunction with Engineering to improve designs and minimise costs
Implement drawing office strategy set by management
Customer/Stakeholder Support:
Establish and maintain relationships with internal/external clients
Provide responsive support to sales and production queries that meets customer satisfaction
Drawing Office Responsiveness:
Ensure all drawings are free of errors and meet the required accuracy standards Produce designs that meet customer requirements and design intent
Ensure drawings are delivered within set timeframes
Drawing Quality Management:
Produce designs that meet customer requirements and design intent Ensure all drawings comply with established drawing standards
Financial Management:
Review income statements monthly to ensure accuracy and reporting anomalies
Ensure cost-effective deployment of CAD software and external service providers
Manage the utilisation and recovery of man hours spent on DO requests
People Management:
Plan, select, develop and manage manpower capabilities for the function as required by the operation
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and effect discipline where required in line with company policy
Product Data Management:
Ensure the latest version of all issued drawings is maintained in OnBase
Ensure that all drawings are consistently stored in the Vault/Windchill
Quality Management:
Report monthly on drawing office performance, risk, improvements, financials, and workforce Adhere to procedures, design specifications and ISO standards
