Permanent - Procurement & Supply Chain Manager - Ekurhuleni (East Rand) - South Africa

About the Role:

The position requires an experienced and results-driven Procurement & Supply Chain Manager to lead the transformation and performance improvement of the company's procurement, inventory, logistics, and warehouse functions.

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving procurement excellence, supplier performance, inventory optimization, ERP process improvement, and team development. The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Finance, Operations, and Executive Management to ensure the company's supply chain effectively supports business growth and customer service objectives.

The role offers a unique opportunity to lead the continued optimization of the company's Acumatica ERP environment, strengthen procurement processes, and build a sustainable supply chain structure for the future. As part of the global Group, operating in more than 50 countries worldwide, the successful candidate will collaborate with international suppliers, company's production facilities, and global procurement stakeholders. The role requires the ability to operate effectively within a multinational business environment, balancing local operational requirements with global supply chain strategies and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Supplier Management:

Develop procurement strategy, sourcing, contracts, and supplier performance. 

Deliver cost savings, governance, and supplier accountability. 

Manage procurement activities across both local and international supplier networks. 

Collaborate with the company's global manufacturing plants and international suppliers to improve lead times, product availability, and supply chain performance.

Ensure alignment with global procurement policies, supplier agreements, and governance standards.

Supply Chain & Inventory:

Optimize inventory planning, replenishment, and stock parameters. 

Improve stock availability while reducing excess and obsolete inventory.

Process & ERP Improvement:

Improve procurement and supply chain processes.

Identify automation opportunities and maximize ERP effectiveness.

Performance Management:

Monitor and improve key KPIs including OTIF, inventory, service levels, inventory turns, and logistics performance.

Leadership:

Lead procurement, inventory, logistics, and warehouse teams. 

Build capability, accountability, and continuous improvement across the function. 

Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Finance, and Operations to achieve business objectives.

Key Requirements:

Essential:

Suitable tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Engineering, Commerce, or related field. 

Minimum 8 years' experience in procurement and supply chain management.

Minimum 5 years' experience in a management role. 

Proven experience managing inventory, procurement, and supplier performance.

Strong ERP experience, including process optimization and business improvement initiatives.

Strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred:

Exposure to technical product environments. 

Experience working within a multinational company or global supply chain environment.

Exposure to international sourcing, imports, and supplier management.
