• Formulate and accurately match paint colours from customer samples

• Mix formulated colours using the relevant paint mixing system

• Use computer-based paint formulation software to formulate and match colours

• Accurately assess colours and make the necessary adjustments to achieve the required colour match

• Maintain a strong focus on colour accuracy and consistency

• Have a good understanding of different paint binder systems

• Have a good understanding of automotive and light industrial paint systems

• Ensure all paint is mixed according to the correct formulation and required specifications

• Follow all prescribed mixing, quality control and safety procedures

• Handle high volumes of paint mixing while maintaining accuracy and quality

• Work efficiently to meet customer requirements and turnaround times

• Keep the mixing room, equipment and work area clean, neat and organised

• Ensure mixing equipment and tools are properly maintained and used correctly

• Identify and report any issues relating to colour matching, paint systems, equipment or stock

• Work closely with the sales team, management and other staff members to ensure customer requirements are met

• Maintain a professional and positive approach when dealing with customers and colleagues

Matric

A minimum of 5 years' practical experience in automotive paint mixing and colour matching

A strong eye for colour, be able to accurately match colours from customer samples, and be comfortable working with computer-based paint formulation and mixing systems

This is a fast-paced, high-volume working environment, and the successful candidate must be able to work accurately under pressure while maintaining consistent quality and meeting deadlines

A team player who is able to communicate effectively and interact professionally with customers, colleagues, supervisors, and management

• Strong understanding of automotive paint systems
